18 Year Old Author

“I think all writing is a disease. You can’t stop it.”

I know, you're confused. Let me explain.

Hello again!

If you're here it means you want to know what my favorite kind of chocolate is, or you're intrigued by this page's very clever title (or both).

My absolute favorite kind of chocolate is dark sea salt caramel.

I titled this page "the real M. V. Marguerite" because my name's not really M. V. Marguerite, and it doesn't even match my initials (surprise!). Most of you probably already knew/guessed this, and are wondering why I would ever want a pseudonym, which is why here I have provided the very unimpressive explanation: I wanted a pen-name because all my favorite authors have one, and I thought it was really cool.

The explanation for why I chose M. V. Marguerite is a little more interesting. My real name is Margherita Bassi, so I went for "Marguerite" because it's the French version of Margherita (I love everything French). The V in M. V. Marguerite is there because it's the initial of both my grandmothers' names, and the truth behind the first M is that I just wanted another letter.

Now that we've addressed the elephant in the room, let's move on to more incredibly interesting facts about myself:

As my name suggests, I'm Italian. Both my parents were born in the small town of Modena (Ferraris and balsamic vinegar anyone?), and we go back every summer and winter vacation. During the school year, though, we are stuck in New England where I now attend Boston College. Aside from my love of writing (addiction, really) my other hobbies include reading, horseback riding, and hoarding chocolate peanut butter cups in my dorm room.
